(Rankings are based on latest NBC12/WHAN Radio Top 10 Poll)

#1 L.C. Bird 43, James River 6: Skyhawks score 36 unanswered to roll over the Rapids and improve to 3-0. James River is now 1-3, and needing a win against Midlothian next week to climb back into the 6A South playoff race.

#5 Manchester 34, #8 Monacan 6: It's a combination of the Lancers simply being that good and the Chiefs falling down a bit to earth after their best start in 6 years. Daniel Rose threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns as the Lancers pulled away little by little throughout the contest, building the 34-0 lead by the end of three quarters. Monacan now has to get it together to head to L.C. Bird next week, while Manchester goes to Clover Hill.

Clover Hill 17, Midlothian 3: Congratulations to the Cavaliers for picking up their first win of the season, while the Trojans fell to 0-4. Frank Boyd ran for 104 yards and a touchdown in the victory, as Clover Hill goes to 1-2, and gets ready for the Lancers invasion next Friday.

#7 Cosby 44, Huguenot 0: East night for the 4-0 Titans, concluding their four-game homestand to start the season. After a bye week, they travel to Clover Hill and James River to start October, then host Manchester in a big matchup come October 17th. Tylon Wilmot scored on runs of 57 and 6 yards for Cosby.

Thomas Dale, Meadowbrook, Matoaca all idle this week...
